What Are SMC Water Tanks?

Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) is formed by impregnating augmentation material, filling material, mold release agent, pigment and catalyst into Unsaturated Polyester Resin, increasing the viscosity chemically, and compression molding the mixture to sheet form of excellent workability. Panels molded using hydraulic press are used to form components (floor, walls and ceiling) of a tank body; ceiling tape of excellent restoration capability and interior and exterior augmentation materials and assembled using bolts to form water tanks with excellent durability, sanitation, and water tightness.

These tanks are for specific requirements of corrosion proof coatings including all types of epoxy coatings and other corrosion formulas.
Specific requirements for roofs, nozzles, ladders, platforms.

Technical Specification

1. Design

1.1 Material
The sectional panel tank shall consist of 1M x 1M panel manufactured from 4.5mm to 6mm thickness according to requirement

1.2 Flanges
The sectional panels shall be pressed to double flanges at the angles of 45 degree and 90 degree to the face of the plate in four sides.

1.3 Reinforced Method
All tanks are internally braced with angle stays to endure the rigidity of the tank when filled with the water. The Top panel is supported by top panel support, which shall be made of Hot-dipped galvanized material

2. Accessories

2.1 Bolt, Nut & washers
Hot-dipped galvanized material.

2.2 Sealing Material
Non-Toxic PVC foam tape shall be used between the joints

2.3 Covers
The tank cover shall be constructed from 1.4mm to 3.0mm of thickness not-dipped galvanized material according to the requirement.
